Update: its 8 years later and I continue to be impressed with Brant's special magic. I don't go all the time when I'm feeling well but there's no one else I would call first when I'm injured. Broke my shoulder skiing in Feb2024 and it was still bothering me 6 months later. Brant has been instrumental in getting me past the sticky soft tissue healing process.

I had a herniated disc, excruciating sciatica and eventually a microdiscectomy of my L5/S1 at the age of 49. Operation was a success but in the years after as I tried to get back to my former fitnes level I strained lower back muscles to the point of hypertonia and it seemed I got weaker and weaker over time, even as I kept up my usual activities including yoga biking& skiing. Tried every kind of body work: PT, ART ,massage, acupuncture, but nothing worked. By 52 years old I figured all my parts' warranties were expired until I met Brant. The way he analyzed my weakness pinpointed the exact deep interior muscles that needed help. I was totally skeptical of some of the MAT & Posturology methods (including weird little electronic squares I was supposed to tape to my soles). I stuck with his protocol and saw him 5 times in 3 weeks and saw a BIG difference. I learned so much, including how some of my yoga was undermining my progress. Brant has great hands and an even better mind. He is curious, knowledgeable, flexible with scheduling & very easy to work with. I booked another 5 to take care of some other issues and Brant continues to impress me as we rebuild my body. I highly recommend seeing him for any mechanical body problem.

Brant and I are colleagues at Arrive Wellness in NYC. I’m a personal trainer and Pilates instructor there and Brant is a Posturologist. When he first introduced me to Posturology I was hobbling around the gym in a walking boot. I had a broken toe, chronic knee and hip pain and nobody could tell me why. Then Brant showed me how my poor eye convergence was causing muscular weakness and pain all down the left side of body. We put on the postural insoles, did some eye exercises and like magic my body was aligned, my muscles were firing and the pain was almost gone. I was shocked. I almost couldn’t believe that a solution could be so immediate and effective. But it was. If you’re losing hope, and you’re struggling with chronic pain and injury and you think you’ve tried everything, call Brant the Muscle Mechanic. You’ll be glad you did!

Brant is a magician! But in all honesty, incredibly knowledgeable in his field. Made my posture/mobility issues better in the matter of minutes. My only regret is that I didn’t discover his method sooner, most likely it would have prevented the injuries that occurred from sports and constant physical activity. Thank you for your expertise, and helping people feel and move better!

I’ve been working with Brant over 15 years and can honestly say it’s been a life changing experience. Brant approaches pain and disfunction in the body in a unique manner - he figures out what is driving the issue on a nervous system level. Muscle Activation and Posturology are modalities that put you in the driver’s seat of healing and working with your own body- and Brant is there every step of the way to guide you in your journey toward a better relationship with your body.

My husband and I have had only positive experiences with Brant. As we age and continue to be active in sports, Muscle Mechanics has kept us functioning as if we had much younger bodies. In addition, whenever some part stops working properly, Brant is able to help when PT and other approaches cannot do the job. We highly recommend Brant and all his services.

I went in with some knee pain and Brant was able to immediately identify some significant problems in my posture and form and helped me diagnose where the issues were originating from. By the end of the session my knee felt much stronger and I was able to put weight on it again. He me a lot of great at-home exercises to continue my rehab.

Brant talked about how he got into this type of therapy and because I've had a hamstring and other injuries from running for months I decided to give it a try. That day I felt much better and continue to improve. And because I don't live in NYC, he was able and willing to recommend me to someone in Boston. I highly recommend this type of therapy and Brant.

Great postural analysis, good exercises and follow up treatment. Really cares about his clients. Definitely recommend. Brant is great to work with. Has seriously helped me return to closer to normal function levels such as hiking and jogging.

Brant is the best. I went to him for rehab immediately post ACL transplant. My recovery was amazing, my surgeon was wowed remarking that I was way ahead of the curve. I worked with him side by side with traditional PT which I quickly abandoned in favor of increased sessions with Brant. The approach and specificity of the MAT work combined with Brant's knowledge of surrounding muscles and ligature and the personal attention was incomparable. I have returned to him for back injury and brought my athlete son to him after was hit by a pitch on his pitching arm. His work is incredible.

Brant knows his stuff I can tell you that! If you're considering going to see him do it. He's depth of understanding of the body, posture etc is unlike anyone you will find and it shows. Love working with him.

Can't say enough good things about Muscle Mechanic. Brant totally tailors the session to my particular needs. He has eliminated pain and discomfort due to various ailments I've had. Sciatica, plantar fasciitis, shoulder injury--you name it. His knowledge of the body and how it functions is awesome! Plus he's also a great physical trainer as well. You have to find out for yourself!

Brant Amundson is a very gifted healer. His approach to working with the body is profound, and involves thoughtful analysis of individual uniqueness. I have clearly benefited from his work with me, and from doing the exercises he prescribed for me to do at home. I am most grateful.

Brant has kept me moving and healthy for many years. He is always changing up the routine, and he is. one of the best observers I've ever known. He truly watches you, and what he suggests is tailored directly for you. And besides which, he is fun, smart, and being with him is a pleasure. I wholeheartedly recommend him for everyone. He's a former athlete and that keeps it even more fun.

Brant knows his stuff and tailors his sessions to your needs. I would recommend him for any posture work, spinal health work, muscle activation, personal training. As a longtime sufferer of scoliosis and kyphosis-related complications, I fully rely on Brant for restoration, rehabilitation and maintenance of proper spinal and muscular function.

When I first came to Brant a few months ago my body felt twisted and I was experiencing a lot of pain in my leg and foot. I even started wearing my orthotics again, but that wasn’t helping at all. After just two sessions with Brant I’m much more aligned, my gait is better and my pain is barely noticeable. Thanks Brant!
